When an inmate calls out for the first time, the first minute will be free and if you don’t have an account it will explain over the phone how to set up an ICSolutions account at no cost. With this system, you will have the option to make a Prepaid Account or a Debit Telephone Account. ICSolutions phone calls will be $0.21 a minute with a max of 15 minutes per phone call. The Ashland County Jail uses ICSolutions for our inmate phone system. In addition, all staff members attend a certificate Jail Academy and a minimum of 24 hours of in-service training each year. All staff members must pass a rigorous pre-employment program prior to being hired. This is mainly due to a dedicated and professional staff. The jail has maintained a 100% rating with that bureau for the last 8 years. This facility complies with all minimum standards as set forth by the Bureau of Adult Detention.
Additional programs are Work Release, Community Service projects and Life Skills training. Inmates are provided with recreational periods, television and table games. Bible study and religious counseling are available as well. education, full medical and psychological services, laundry, library and commissary services. Some of these are: Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Anger management, Parenting Plus, G.E.D. The current average daily population is 110, with approximately 1750 people booked into the jail per year.īeing a full service jail requires us to provide many programs and activities for inmates. With a capacity of 127 inmates and a staff of 34 officers, the jail was designed to meet the needs of a growing Ashland County.
The facility is a state of the art modular style jail. The new jail was opened February 24th, 2001. The Corrections Division operates the only full-service jail in Ashland County. The Corrections Division is responsible for the operations of adult detentions under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff's Office.
